Patent Renewal

In order to preserve the validity of your patent, a renewal fee must be paid every year, after four (4) years from the publication date of your Paris/Non-Paris Convention Route patent application or the international publication date of your PCT application.

As an example, the first annuity to be paid is 5th annuity.

Payment for claims in excess of five (5) regardless if the claim is an independent or dependent claim will be required to be paid.

Multiple-dependent claims are counted differently in the Philippines. These type of claims are counted as how many claims they are referring back. Additionally, claims referring back to multiple-dependent claims shall be counted as the same as the multiple dependent claim. For a clearer example, please refer to below sample count.
